About the Item
The inspiration of Hilda Snoeijer comes from the landscapes, trees and animals, which she also sees close to home and during travels. She often uses charcoal to convey the details and characteristics of her subjects, which she closely observes. The sources of inspiration for her work lie in the landscapes of Central Spain, but also in the old cultural landscapes of Drenthe. Her drawings and paintings are very elaborate and the textures drawn with great attention are almost tangible. In recent years Snoeijer has also been traveling to Sweden, Lapland. This is stated in her work! Hilda Snoeijer about her working method: ,, With a piece of charcoal I can whirl over the landscapes, you have been everywhere in mind. Everything is touched by the piece of chalk. This also applies to the drawing of animals. You wander with the charcoal and even touch the animal everywhere ... "
