About the Item
Who am I to be your secret lover? Figurative large format Landscape with figures in fairy-tale setting.
Acrylic on canvas.
Author: Igor Fomin.
Measurements in centimeters: 195 x 195 cm. / In inches: 76.77 x 76.77"
In this painting, Igor Fomin not only tells us the story of a couple who keep their love secret, he also tells us about that beautiful old place, a witness to their love affairs, and those neighbors, who should not find out and who make their lives. An entire city, with a splendid aqueduct in the background, through whose arches the view is lost. The set is endowed with a magnificent color and a complex structure, full of planes to stop at all those characters that fill the author's pictorial and literary imaginary.
From the tow protagonists in the foreground to the last eccentric wanting to climb a tree; or the one who waits hidden with a rifle to hunt down his prey, or the lover with a burning heart, those who dance, those who climb trees, those who fly … There are so many details to focus our eyes on, that the viewer needs a long time to capture all the details.
The composition, color, creativity, humor and irony typical of Igor Fomin's work come together in this great painting by the artist, probably one of the most beautiful he has ever painted
Fomin is a storytelling artist. He is a storyteller in his everyday, anecdotally narrating the funny side of life, and he is a storyteller in his professional life, bringing to the canvas realistic popular scenes set in fairy-tale settings where the subject matter is always treated with irony and humor.
The titles of his paintings tell us about eccentric characters of an era, a culture, a society (which one?) - it doesn't matter, it is a distorted reality with a romantic and sentimental touch, which takes us to references such as Brueghel the Elder, El Bosco and Chagall, within an aesthetic and chromatism typical of Renaissance painting where Fomin develops his original scenes playing with the design of spaces, landscapes, buildings, characters and costumes. A stage director who makes us smile, but also reflect on his original interpretation of the human being, because this is the main protagonist of his paintings.
Igor Fomin (Minsk, Bielorrusia, 1963) studied architecture at the University of Minsk, but even at this time he was showing his liking for the word of painting. His first jobs in the world of painting at this time were as a commissioned graphic designer. En 1988 he started painting pictures, a small forerunner of the style for which he is now recognized. During this period, his love of music also led him to study the classical guitar, a theme which he developed extensively in his painting. Music and architecture are two permanent elements in his paintings.
In 1992 he settled in Spain with his newly created family and, unable to work as architects due to their lack of knowledge of the language, he and his wife, the painter Elena Narkevich, began to work with art galleries, and their work soon began to be recognized.
In 1994 he was accepted to the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors (Asociación Española de Pintores y Escultores). During these years he won a Second place prize in the Naive Art Competition. In 1996 he won First place prize in the Autumn Salon organized by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors. Since 1989 Igor Fomin and his family are living and working in Spain. He is a participant of the major Art Fairs and Festivals all over the World (i.e. Art New York 2018), his works can be found in private collections in Russia, Germany, the USA, UK and many others.

Woman in the garden. Romantic Oil Blue Landscape with beautiful female figure.
Located in Segovia, ES
Woman in the garden. Romantic and full of light landscape with beautiful female figure by the Spanish artist Manuel García Blázquez.
Oil on canvas.
Dimensions:
Unframed: (H) 89 x (W) 116 (D) 2 cm. / 35.04 x 45.67 x 0.79 in.
Framed: (H) 109 x (W) 136 (D) 4 cm. / 42.91 x 53.54 x 1.57 in.
Light is the protagonist in this landscape with female figure by Manuel García Blázquez; an intense and soft light that interacts with color, and the impressionist technique that defines the work of this painter.
The beautiful silhouette of a woman dressed in white and the reflections of the water in the pond at the back of the garden give the scene a certain luminous dreaminess, which contrasts with the strength of the color of the flowers in the foreground. The background landscape, so timeless and lyrical, serves as the setting for a female portrait with classical reminiscences.
The work is executed along the lines...

Kostacis with his hummingbirds. Figurative Popular scene in Renaissance atmosphere.
Acrylic on canvas.
Outside scene where a group of people seem to experience extraordinary sensations surrounded by hummingbirds.
In an urban environment with a Renaissance flair, the characters, dressed in original clothes of plural inspiration, seem to react ecstatically by the effects of the hummingbirds, which Kostacis seems to have under control with his wealthy and wise aura.
The studied composition, the chromatic harmony, and the subtlety of the design of all the elements that make up the scene, give this painting a classic beauty. The author adds to all this his own brushstrokes of fine humor that wrap the whole theme in a casual irony, the same which surrounds all the stories that Igor Fomin...

The smokers. Figurative painting. Colorful landscape with figures smoking.
By Igor Fomin
Located in Segovia, ES
The smokers. Figurative painting. Colorful Landscape with figures.
Acrylic on canvas.
Measurements in centimeters: 89 x 146 x 3 cm. / Framed: 114 x 171 x 5 cm.
In inches: 35.04 x 57.48 x 1.18 ". / Framed: 44.88 x 67.32 x 1.9 "
In the background, a beautiful city with classical buildings and a a forest; in the foreground, a small park where smokers gather next to the fountain crowned by a cupid holding a cigarette between his fingers. It is a group of six men and three women. They all smoke. They enjoy the smoke as they blow it out of their mouths, making shapes with it and interacting with each other in various poses.
Hands emerge from the trees of the nearby forest holding lighted matches between their fingers as a lure to attract smokers to the darkness of the forest. A very dreamlike image to represent the temptation of the forbidden.
