Jean Philippe George-Julliard (1818–1888) or Henri Philippe Julliard was born on 1 january 1818 in Geneva (Switzerland) from french parents.
He first studied art in Nantes in France, but later he came back to Geneva where he became pupil of Alexandre Calame (1810-1864). He travelled with him in Italy and worked with him for large paintings.
He founded with other artists the "Cercle des Artistes de Genève" and the "Brunswick". He exhibited hit works several time in Geneva between 1845 and 1886 and had a gret success with mountain views and landscapes.
He died in Geneva on 9 may 1888.
His works are held by Museums such as the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Geneva
