About the Item
The legendary French commune of Gordes, a romantic, ancient town in Provence, charms you with its narrow cobblestone streets which in turn entice you venture up to it's 10th century chateau. You share the view where many a great artist have painted including Chagall, Vasarely and Mara. During your afternoon in Gordes you happen upon a cafe with views of the Abby of Sinanque and across the glorious Provence region and are sure that you will never forget it's alluring beauty. Master impressionist Jim Rodgers uses text;ure, light, shadows and color to create this French impressionist original landscape that will captivate you for years to come as well. The artist has selected a slightly distressed antique gold frame in which to present his original oil painting thereby accentuating the history of the subject matter. Jim Rodgers studied painting at both the highly respected Art Students League of NYC and Ridgewood Art Institute of NewJersey. He has pursued his craft for more than 30 years to notable acclaim; amongst numerous other serious collections, across the United States, that Rodgers' works are that of a prior chairman of J P Morgan Chase, Pennsylvania Trust and Champion Mortgage Company.
