About the Item
Home to Michelangelo's "David," Florence is an art lover's paradise from the architecture to the renaissance artwork to the bridges to the innovations in modern art, science and life style! But the Florence experience only begins at the city limits, reaching across the Italian hilltops above Florence, many kilometers beyond the lush landscape. Private estates and farms puncture the rolling hills where fruit trees are in plentiful supply, often growing side by side with vineyards native to the region. Artist Jim Rodgers aptly uses impressionist techniques to showcase the lushness of the Florentine surrounds as well as the earthy values which brought rise to the centuries of art. Rodgers studied painting at both the highly respected Art Students League of NYC and Ridgewood Art Institute of NewJersey; he has traveled extensively to gather his own, authentic reference materials with which to form the basis of his new creations. Rodgers has pursued his craft for more than 35 years to notable acclaim; his work is represented in the collections of a prior chairman of J P Morgan Chase, as well as prior chairmen of both Pennsylvania Trust and Champion Mortgage Company amongst numerous other collections across the United States.
