Poppies in the famed French region of Provence is pure magic! The lush, brilliant red flowers suddenly appear just as they will demure when poppy season has run it's course for the year. The mesmerizing fields beckon you to trek ahead quickly while the sun light permits ultimately to stop at a farmhouse or cafe for some farm fresh chevre and, of course, a bottle of the local wine! Master impressionist Jim Rodgers, a well seasoned European traveler, used a multitude of layers of paint in shades of green and red and sapphire blue, and varied brush strokes to create this timeless depiction of one of France's most storied destinations. This original French impressionist landscape oil painting is a collector's dream whether a collector of fine art, fine food and wine or a devout francophile! Rodgers studied painting at both the highly respected Art Students League of NYC and Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey. He has pursued his craft for more than 30 years to significant acclaim; original Rodgers oil paintings are included in the collections of prior chairmen of J P Morgan Chase, Pennsylvania Trust Company and Champion Mortgage Company among numerous notable others across the United States.
