Bluebells come and go so quickly I was lucky to capture them before they disappeared. The combination of blue and green is lovely and fresh.
Artist bio: Lynda Minter is a London-based artist who has an interest in capturing impressions of how the landscape and cityscapes appear in a fleeting moment, bringing to life the complexity of how light and colour transforms shapes and mood which she finds exciting. Lynda’s colourful palette combining thick brushstrokes with rich colour to capture the vivacity of Britain’s varied landscape: recording over her long career the ever-changing skyline of London parks and the river Thames. St Martin’s School of Art BA hons in Fine Arts 1984 where she studied sculpture and a few years later made the transition into oils at the Slade Summer School. In 2013 Lynda was artist in residence at the River and Rowing Museum, Artist in Focus at The Dover Street Arts Club 2006 and has contributed to many solo and mixed exhibitions including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition , The Discerning Eye, The Mall Galleries, The Chelsea Arts Society, The Painter’s Fine Art Society, Christie’s Wine Art Society , Henley Royal Regatta, Belgravia Gallery, Piers Feetham Gallery, Aylesbury Museum, Buckinghamshire, Amanda Aldous Gallery, Lacy Road Gallery, Art For Youth. Bluebells Woods 1, Impressionist Landscape Artwork, Original Floral Painting
By Rosemary Farrer
Located in Deddington, GB
Bluebell woods 1 is an original painting by Rosemary Farrer. At this time of year I head for the woods to paint the bluebells. The colours are very hard to capture, not quite purple, not quite blue, photographs don't quite do them justice. This is where a painting has an advantage over a photograph, a combination of cooler blues and warmer purples, side by side, mix optically and create a shimmering field of colour, flecks of lime green from the new beech leaves provide the perfect foil.
Rosemary Farrer, artists and printmaker sells with Wychwood Art online and in our art gallery in Oxfordshire. Rosemary paints in oils and also makes original prints. The prints are in no way copies of the paintings, they are conceived of, and made, as a response to the special and wonderful effects that can be achieved only through the various techniques of printmaking, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in aquatint and etching. Design, composition and the use of colour are what excite her. She spends a lot of time drawing and painting outside, back in the studio, she will distil these ideas into strong graphic woodcuts, and linos or subtly textured etchings. Recent monotypes draw together the threads of her different media, with their graphic shapes and rich painterly colours. She studied fine art at Camberwell School of Art and The Ruskin School of Drawing, and learned printmaking at Morley College [London]. She has exhibited prints...
