Modern Impressionist gouache on paper view of London and the river Thames by M K Meyer. The painting is signed bottom right and titled to the backboard 'Londres'. Presented in a plain white painted wood frame under glass.
A wonderful painting capturing the majesty and expanse of the river Thames and its riverbanks. Meyer has captured the feeling of the flowing water by the streaks of colour across the blue. The buildings and landscape of the far bank are captured in blocks of colour, deconstructed giving a sense of form but at a distance. A line of trees to the far left standing as if sentinels. The blue of the sky and the clouds echoing the form and tone of the river below.
A really charming and successful painting that would be a welcome addition to any collection.
