The oil painting portrays a serene and tranquil scene of a cold winter evening. The canvas is dominated by a blanket of snow that covers the landscape, and the artist has used soft, muted hues of white, blue and grey to capture the crisp, wintry atmosphere. In the foreground of the painting, there are several snow drifts, their smooth contours inviting the viewer to imagine the texture of the snow. The brushwork is loose, suggesting the artist's focus was on capturing the ambiance of the scene rather than exacting details. In the background, a house can be seen, almost entirely covered in snow. About the artist:
Kalenyuk Oksana was born in 1964 in Rivne region. The love of painting has taken over from the baby. From 1975 to 1980 she studied at the Zoryan Art School of Rivne region.
In 1985 she graduated from the Crimean Art College. M. Samokish (now has the status of a national university). Her teachers of painting were G. Kurilenko, V. Grigoriev. After graduating from the school, she began to work as a teacher of fine arts at the Piryatin School - a gymnasium of aesthetic education, which she founded with her husband in 1990.
Kalenyuk Oksana works in the landscape and still life genre. Personal exhibitions: Kyiv, Museum of Ukrainian Heritage; T. Shevchenko National Museum; the diplomatic mission of Ukraine to the USA (California) and others. She has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Ukraine and abroad.
