About the Item

Window View by Patti Davis Ganek is a joyful celebration of florals and light, rendered with expressive brushwork and a palette that sings. This contemporary oil painting layers vibrant petals, soft foliage, and flickers of sunlight into a loosely abstracted bouquet, evoking the feeling of gazing out onto a garden in bloom. Pops of coral, blush, lilac, and leafy green dance across the canvas, inviting a sense of freshness and spontaneity. The piece radiates warmth and optimism—like a breath of spring through an open window. About Patti Davis Ganek: My work is an exploration of both the natural world and the inner self—through florals, seascapes, and abstract expressionism. I am drawn to the dynamic energy of the New England coastline, where the rugged rocks, the shifting sands, and the constant pulse of the surf offer a profound sense of both grounding and freedom. Similarly, in my floral paintings I embrace the delicate yet fierce beauty of nature, capturing flowers not just in the form but in their essence, where every brushstroke becomes a living gesture. I paint with a loose, expressive approach, driven by an impulse to make marks that mirror the energy of the world around me. The abstract expressionist movement has deeply influenced my work, inspiring me to create large canvases where I engage in a dialogue with my materials—acrylics, inks, and other mixed media—allowing the marks to evolve organically and intuitively. Music plays a crucial role in my creative process. When I listen to powerful, electric music and enter a meditative mental space, magic happens. These moments of free-flowing, uninhibited painting allow my work to take on a life of its own, where I trust the process and let emotion lead. Whether I am capturing the energy of a flower or the movement of the ocean, I find that abandoning thought and surrendering to the rhythm of my brushstrokes allows me to truly express myself. Painting has become both an escape and a source of therapy for me. Over the years, my art has served as a vital release from the challenges of my personal life, particularly in caring for my husband, who has been ill for many years. Through this process, I’ve found that art is not just an outlet for my emotions, but a place where I can explore the wild beauty of the world and my inner landscape, both of which provide me with endless inspiration. Whether I am painting a sweeping seascape or the fragile form of a flower, my aim is to invite viewers into the moment—to feal the energy, the texture, and the raw emotion that flows through each brushstroke. Every piece I create is a reflection of my journey, my love for nature, and my connection to the ever-changing world around me.
