The Pecking Order
Oil on Masonite
Unframed: 9.5 x 12”
Framed: 14.5 x 17”
This charming bucolic barnyard scene beguiles bathed in the early morning light with the house still deep in slumber as the family of chickens begins their daily routine. The proud rooster stands in charge of the family as the chicks explore their new world. Under it all, one has to wonder which hen is in charge, the demure one with her single chick or the watchful mother with two chicks to monitor. But is she keeping her eye on the chicks or the other hen?
