Seung-Ha Lee is a celebrated South Korean artist, whose expansive seascapes borrow much from abstract color-field painting. Skillfully combining manual paint application with the natural ebbing and swirling of paint, Ha successfully uses the properties of one liquid to impersonate another. Though he works in color as well, his monumental black-and-white works very iconically borrow from the aesthetics and emotional ambiance of fine art landscapephotography.
