About the Item

This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. Sylvia Paul’s “Shade in the Bluebell Wood” is a vibrant depiction of a forest scene, characterized by thin, upward-stretching tree trunks that seem to extend infinitely. The woodland appears boundless as the bright green leaves transition into darker, shadowy tones in the background, adding depth and a sense of exploration. The scene exudes a friendly and inviting atmosphere, with the bright green leaves contrasted and enhanced by flashes of orange. The forest floor is adorned with strokes of purple, depicting bluebells in Paul's distinctive style. Her expressive brushwork and dynamic textures bring the bluebell wood to life, with each stroke adding to the sense of movement and vitality in the scene. The interplay of colors and textures captures the essence of the forest, making it feel both enchanting and full of life. Through her bold use of color and textured brushstrokes, Paul creates a scene that is both visually striking and deeply immersive. The unique depiction of bluebells and the intricate details of the tree trunks invite viewers to linger and explore the depths of the woodland. This captivating artwork is framed, signed by the artist, and ready to be displayed in any space seeking to evoke the beauty and serenity of nature. Whether hung in a living room, hallway, or study, “Shade in the Bluebell Wood” is sure to inspire admiration and delight in all who behold it. “Shade in the Bluebell Wood” is currently available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea, as well as online for art enthusiasts worldwide to acquire and cherish. Bluebells Woods 1, Impressionist Landscape Artwork, Original Floral Painting
By Rosemary Farrer
Located in Deddington, GB
Bluebell woods 1 is an original painting by Rosemary Farrer. At this time of year I head for the woods to paint the bluebells. The colours are very hard to capture, not quite purple, not quite blue, photographs don't quite do them justice. This is where a painting has an advantage over a photograph, a combination of cooler blues and warmer purples, side by side, mix optically and create a shimmering field of colour, flecks of lime green from the new beech leaves provide the perfect foil. Rosemary Farrer, artists and printmaker sells with Wychwood Art online and in our art gallery in Oxfordshire. Rosemary paints in oils and also makes original prints. The prints are in no way copies of the paintings, they are conceived of, and made, as a response to the special and wonderful effects that can be achieved only through the various techniques of printmaking, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in aquatint and etching. Design, composition and the use of colour are what excite her. She spends a lot of time drawing and painting outside, back in the studio, she will distil these ideas into strong graphic woodcuts, and linos or subtly textured etchings. Recent monotypes draw together the threads of her different media, with their graphic shapes and rich painterly colours. She studied fine art at Camberwell School of Art and The Ruskin School of Drawing, and learned printmaking at Morley College [London]. She has exhibited prints...
