The landscape sees a stream flowing within a shady coniferous forest; two young boys try their hand at fishing, using rural tools. The atmosphere is imbued with the light filtering through the trees, which are green and thick.
Tristan Lacroix was distinguished by a naturalist style of painting and a rural realism that looked at simple life and landscapes of the popular newspaper.
