About the Item
A fine 20th Century Modernist figurative oil painted by Christian Pedersen Bellinge (1897-1984)

A good late work by the well listed Danish post impressionist painter.
Painted en plein air, a sunlighted summer view of a dog on his patch by the side of a white washed building. The viewer has his attention. The animal looks at the artist at work, possibly his own pet is the subject matter.
Wonderful fluent technique and light effects, especially the warm shadows on the white washed building created by the foliage from the tree.
Pedersen Bellinge mostly painted non-pictureque compositions, worked land, rural non idealized countryside. His figurative and animal subjects have a ambiguous narative tension.
Good condition.
