Elegant Lady by French River, Large Oil

Canvas size: 24 x 37 inches
Typical French impressionist oil, influenced by the earlier well known artist, Berthe Morisot - a painter and a member of the circle of painters in Paris who became known as the Impressionists. She was described by Gustave Geffroy in 1894 as one of "les trois grandes dames" of Impressionism alongside Marie Bracquemond and Mary Cassatt.
The exquisite scene is of a tranquil harbour, in sky blues and neutrals. The close up of the lady sat overlooking the landscape is very beautiful, with the sun parasol detailing adding a true glimpse of glamour.
