The Lavender Field French School, 20th century oil painting on canvas, framed framed size: 24.5 x 28.5 inches Lovely French oil painting on canvas depicting lavender growing in a Provencal field. The old stone farm house stands to the centre and with distant, rugged hills behind - it is an idyllic scene. One can almost smell the lavender! The painting is of French authorship and dates to the second half of the 20th century. It is a good size and presented in lovely condition and fresh in from a private collection in France. Condition report: The painting is in very good and presentable condition. The frame has very few minor scuffs to the surface and edges.

This artwork "Paysage de Provence" c.1990, is a oil painting on canvas by noted French artist Patrick Reault, born 1955. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 21.75 x 18 inches, framed size is 28.85 x 22.5 inches. it is framed in original wooden painted white frame. it is in excellent condition. About the artist: After growing up on the banks of the Dordogne , in 1975 he became a theater actor and musician in a group formed in Clermont-Ferrand . In the early 1980s , he moved to Marseille where he began his career as a painter, after observing a watercolor artist on the Place aux Huiles . Self-taught, he paints in his cellar, drawing inspiration from the painters Nicolas de Staël and William Turner . He sells his first watercolors on the quays of the Old Port of Marseille, and Cassis . He then moved to Paris, where he continued painting. Patrick Reault exhibits in Asia, the United States and France. The first of his lithographs was published in 1994 by Art Cadre Paris. The Hazan publish posters of his Provençal landscapes. He now exhibits permanently at Opera Gallery. Patrick Reault paints Provençal and colorful landscapes in his so-called Provençal period and proclaims his love for the skies and their spray in his maritime paintings. He used different painting techniques, having started with watercolor, then continued with oils for about ten years. Since then he has mainly used acrylic .
