Idyllic landscape of a house and boat by a pond by Virginia DeFreitas (1919-2008). Signed "V. DeFreitas" in the lower right corner. Unframed.
Virginia was an accomplished artist whose paintings depicted, among other subjects, many of the landscapes in the San Ramon Valley area. She attended the College of the Arts and Crafts in Oakland as a young woman and later studied with Clifford Holmes and Ralph DuCasse. Her works were exhibited in a number of galleries and are in private and corporate collections.
