About the Item
This work embodies the search for a unique rhythm in painting, where dynamic, expressive brushstrokes create a magical vibration of color. Contrasting hues fill the space with light and shadow, while the composition itself seems to dissolve between reality and imagination.
At the center is the artist’s muse, depicted in an interior alongside a flower in a vase—a symbol of fragility and beauty standing against chaos. However, the story of this painting extends beyond the canvas: before the opening of the Rhythms of Light exhibition in Kyiv, the piece was cut by the very model portrayed in it. Volkov-Tkachynskyi restored it using the traditional Japanese kintsugi technique—where cracks are mended with gold, emphasizing their uniqueness.
This act becomes a metaphor: art cannot be destroyed; it only transforms into new forms.
