"Le Sentier Idylle (the Happy Path)" by French Romantic painter Lazare Meyer (1847-1935) 51.5 x 31.5 in. - Oil Paint on Canvas Framed A luminous, two figure composition depicting a barefoot peasant couple conversing as they stroll along a dirt path through a idyllic forest. The two idealized figures has glowing skin and peaceful expressions. The man wears a red tunic tied with a fringed, gold sash. He gazes at the woman affectionately as he takes her hand to guide her. The woman bows her head modestly in response. She wears white drapery. Her lace sash floats in the breeze behind her. The couple is surrounded by tree trunks and saplings with tiny green leaves and flowers to indicate springtime. The painting is beautifully framed and ready to hang in a gold leaf picture frame.
