Precioso óleo sobre cobre de una romería al rocío.
Con un precioso marco holandés.

Estudioso de las escuelas clásicas españolas, especialmente la sevillana barroca de Murillo.
Comenzó sus estudios pictóricos con el maestro C. Toledo continuando su formación con el Círculo Artístico de San Lluch de Barcelona.
En sus obras apreciamos un perfecto equilibrio de coloridos y formas. Su plástica es sutil y delicada, el pincel no mancha el lienzo, más bien lo acaricia, con gran cariño y delicadeza. Sus figuras son serenas, muy humanizadas, muy íntimas cuando se contemplan con interés. Los paisajes son de muy buena factura y un grato y serio colorido, muy bien estudiado y con carácter.
La poética lirica retiene en su más pleno significado todo un conjunto armónico que hace a las obras algo positivamente complaciente y agradable.
Rafael Atencia es un hombre y artista sensible que detiene su mirada y sus vivencias en lo cotidiano y sencillo, en ese mudo dialogo que entabla con las cosas del mundo que le rodea. Sabe penetrar en la oculta belleza de las formas y las líneas y sabe jugar con ellas de tal forma, que el resultado es bello, agradable, sosegado y lleno de paz interior. Se da un hermoso juego entre el contenido y el continente y el nexo entre ambos concede a sus obras un particular sello de personalidad.
