Original Hand Signed by Johnathan Ball Johnathan Ball has been working for more than 15 years to establish a style of painting that transforms the language of the street into a hybrid form of abstraction and urban realism. From the outset, JBall has sought to interpret his experience of cities that have served as crossroads in his life, from Toronto to New York to Miami the urban experience is a central theme in his work. Not always bound to one genre he also works from iconic images and film stills while purposefully engaging with the rich history of painting since the rise of abstraction in the 1950s. His work provides markers of time, engages the viewer with mood and line tracing the painting providing an artist lead tour of the work. JBall is also well known for his sculptural work. Sculpting anatomical forms using them as an entirely new canvas for his painting. His sculptures are an accent to his painted works, sometimes bringing levity. JBall is an active muralist working with community programs such as Toronto’s Street Art initiative, as well as private commissions. His notable patrons include The Mayor of Toronto, Universal Music, Blattner energy, and IMT Corporation. JBall (born Toronto, ON 1983) studied at York University, Toronto, where he received his Bachelors in Fine Arts degree, graduating with honors. After a long, successful career with the Eastman Kodak Company as a photojournalist and editorial photographer, Emile Dillon returned to painting in 1998. As a photographer he traveled the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe. While he’d chosen the camera for his profession, he’d grown up with oil on canvas. His grandfather was the Harlem Renaissance painter Frank Joseph Dillon and a favorite uncle was the Latin American artist Felix Vargas.
Dillon’s years behind the camera and days in Soho galleries inspired him to pursue Photorealism as a style. But instead of the landscape of the exotic which he’d experienced in his Kodak travels, he was fascinated by the humble diners, motels, and vintage signs which were vanishing from American towns and cities. To perfect his craft, he studied at the School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League in New York.
In an article on his work in the July 2019 issue of American Art Collector magazine, Dillon comments on his subject matter. “Somebody’s got to save these things…These places may not exist anymore in the next 100 years.”

Siegfried Gerhard Reinhardt born July 31, 1925 in Eydkuhnen, Germany, died October 24, 1984 in St. Louis, Missouri was a prolific artist and teacher based for most of his career, 1955-1970 at Washington University in St. Louis, where he had taken his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1950. He was also a prominent member of the St. Louis Artists Guild. He was the son of Otto Frederick and Minni (Kukat) Reinhardt, and emigrated with them in 1928 (naturalized in 1936). His best-known work is perhaps the series of murals he executed at Lambert International Airport illustrating the history of aviation. He was a pioneer in combining elements of realism and surrealism in a style known sometimes as superrealism. From 1949 to 1984 he worked with Emil Frei in the design and execution of stained glass windows, including the (1960) Easter Window in the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, in Sunset Hills, Missouri, of which Reinhardt said:
"The 'flame' symbolizes the Holy Spirit as it descended in tongues of fire over the heads of the disciples in the miracle of the upper room in the presence of the Lord Jesus...
