About the Item
'Nesting', based on a double Exposure on Impossible Project Spectra film.
'This is my first home - a real house, with two floors, two bedrooms, a front porch and a yard. There is an apple tree out back ripe with fruit in early fall, a rose bush prickly with thorns in late spring. Unpacking boxes, I find things I forgot I had owned: cameras, a painting, and a striped dress that reminds me of my life before this one restless, in motion, always searching.'

Lisa Toboz is a self-taught artist from Pittsburgh, USA using mostly Polaroid photography. Her work explores self-portraiture and the forgotten landscapes in and around the rust-belt region, but her most recent project, “Dwell,” navigates the territory of chronic illness and healing. She has exhibited internationally, and her first zine, “The Long Way Home,” was most recently published by Static Age UK. Member of Film Shooters Collective and the 12.12 Project.
