About the Item
Dimensions in our Head - digital C-Print, based on multi layered Polaroids, 40x40cm, 2014, Edition of 1/7. mounted on Dibond, matte surface, Signed on verso with Certificate.
A piece from the 12:12men's project in 2014, for the theme dimensions. The piece is a combination of two SX-70 shots and Impossible film in the background. To achieve the transparency of the SX-70 layers, the artist rubbed off the emulsion where the shots underneath could be seen.
This piece will be exhibited at the Bombay Beach Biennale in the newly founded Polaroid Museum in it's permanent collection. The Museum opens its doors in March 23rd, 2019.

Artist Statement
I started taking Polaroids when there already was limited stock available. Back then, about ten years ago, I discovered the polanoid website and the people there, who where using these expired films as an artistic medium. It was a vivid community at this time, sharing and discussing their Polaroids every day.
What I like about using expired polaroid film is it’s unpredictability in a way. I`m just fascinated in the results these chemicals can create and there are so many things that can affect the outcome. For instance you can only guess where the undeveloped spot will be and thats what makes the uniqueness of a Polaroid. I guess I could say, shooting Polaroids is like a treasure hunt for me.
Living on the outskirts of the Austrian Alps i spend much time in the Mountains and the air above them as a paragliding pilot. It is the beauty of silence and solitude where much of my inspiration comes from.
