About the Item

"The sea, My source" Medium: Archival pigment print on premium matte photo paper Dimensions: 20 x 27 cm / 7.8 x 10.6 inches (unframed) Edition: Limited Edition of 50 Signed on the back & Numbered Includes Certificate of Authenticity The pictures of the framed photo are for your inspiration In this striking photograph, Natalya captures the quiet elegance of an early morning promenade on the beach. A gentle shoreline stretches into the horizon, where soft waves roll in under a wide, open sky. The golden sand meets the rhythmic sea, a timeless dance of motion and stillness. This is more than a beach—it's a place of return, where each tide brings clarity, calm, and quiet strength. Natalya’s lens captures not only the physical beauty of the coastal scene but also its quiet soul: a blend of anticipation and peace, structure and nature, solitude and the subtle promise of movement to come. The photo was taken in the sun-drenched region of Canet-en-Roussillon in southern France in June 2025, a coastal town known for its Mediterranean light, natural beauty, and rich blend of seaside charm and rural tranquility. This image is part of Natalya Mougenot’s series The Beauty of Simple, which celebrates ordinary scenes that reveal an emotional depth through their stillness and simplicity. A painter by background, Mougenot brings a subtle, poetic sensibility to photography. Her work is contemplative, quiet, and deeply rooted in presence. Shipping: Ships from France in flat protective packaging. Artist Biography: Natalya Mougenot is a painter whose artistic vision naturally extends into photography. Her work is guided by a deep appreciation for simplicity, authenticity, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. She was born in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan, and moved to France in 2003. Now based in Lyon, she draws inspiration from her surroundings as well as from her travels, which have offered countless opportunities to observe and capture subtle, fleeting moments — the kind that stay with us. Her relationship with photography began at the age of 11, when she received her first Polaroid camera. Though not formally trained in photography, her intuitive and spontaneous approach brings a uniquely sensitive perspective. She does not seek to reinvent the world through her lens — rather, she embraces it as it is. Before fully embracing painting in 2017, Natalya had already been passionate about photography for years. This deep connection with capturing life’s fleeting instants naturally informed and enriched her painterly practice. Her photographs often serve as visual notes — some evolving into paintings, others left untouched — all expressing stillness, presence, and a lived moment held gently in time. Natalya says about her photography practice: "I seek to capture the honest, unguarded moments of life — simple, timeless fragments that reveal the poetry in everyday existence. My photography, like my painting, embraces presence and authenticity, creating quiet visual stories that invite reflection and feeling."

"Dry Season" Zebra Herd at Watering Hole Wildlife Photograph Edition 330/950
By Thomas Mangelsen
Located in Houston, TX
Color wildlife photograph from 1991 by photojournalist Thomas Mangelsen. The work features a herd of zebras gathered around a watering hole. Signed, dated, and editioned 33/950 along lower from margin. Currently hung a complementary black frame with a cream matting. Dimensions Without Frame: H 24.5 in. x W 35 in. Artist Biography: A Nebraska native, Mangelsen’s love of nature, his life outdoors and business success were heavily influenced by his father. An avid sportsman, Harold Mangelsen took his sons to favorite blinds along the Platte River in Nebraska to observe the great flocks of ducks, geese and cranes that migrate through the valley. From these adventures, Mangelsen learned important lessons for photographing in the field, most notably patience and understanding animal behavior. In 1965, Mangelsen began studying business at the University of Nebraska. In 1967, Tom transferred to Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, where he changed his major and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Tom continued postgraduate study in zoology and wildlife biology at the University of Nebraska and Colorado State University. In 1970 Mangelsen moved to Nederland, Colorado. He spent two years living in the Rocky Mountains in an old mining shack without electricity or running water with his English setter, black lab and raccoon. Tom continued to work on his photography and studied arctic alpine ecology at the University of Colorado’s Mountain Research Station near Nederland. There he met Bert Kempers, a CU film producer, who later hired Tom as cinematographer and film editor for his company Westwind Productions, making educational and nature documentaries. Tom longed to make a documentary about the Platte River and its great wildlife resource. He returned to the Platte each spring to film the great crane migration. These experiences led to Tom traveling to the cranes’ nesting grounds in Alaska and their wintering areas in Texas. National Geographic television wanted to produce a documentary, which would chronicle the plight of the endangered whooping crane...
