Mitchell Funk
Big Bubbles and the Bethesda Fountain.

2011

About the Item

Big bubble blowers create alien-looking biomorphic forms that frame the winged neo-classical bronze Bethesda Fountain crowed with pigeons. It's set against fall foliage of soft warm yellows and oranges to create a delightful juxtaposition. Pigeons atop the stature seem oblivious to the lyrically beautiful yet mysterious air-born invaders. Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed, printed later, Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper Can a street photograph be a grab shot and precisely designed at the same time? Mitchell Funk says yes. He brings finely honed photography skills such as composition, intense lighting and design to highly charged subject matter. Signed, dated lower and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, unframed, other sizes available. Mitchell Funk brings the compositional precision of studio photography to street photography.
