A tightly cropped view of Midtown Manhattan from across the East River in Queens yields a view of the city that only an artist can provide. This perfect arrangement of buildings can not be seen with the human eye. It's solely the result of choosing the right location, at the right time, with the right light and with the right tele-focal lens. And yes, there is an X-factor that must be added into the mix. The result is a glorious parade of New York's most iconic architecture soaked in a dreamy cerulean blue.
Signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed. printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
