About the Item
Pioneering Color Photographer Mitchell Funk carefully crafts a composition where the graceful Art Deco shapes of the Chrysler Building spire play off the rectilinear grids of adjoining modern skyscrapers. A large moon to the immediate left of the spire is in perfect position to punctuate the dueling architectural forms. Funk uses his precise style to express something bigger than it if were just straight forward document of the subject.
Signed, Dated, Numbers 3/15 lower right recto, other sizes available. unframed, printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
