About the Item
"Taken at around 6pm on Mar 28, 2020, Park Avenue was practically deserted and empty. I was standing on E 63rd St when I took this photo. I used a 70-200mm lens to compress the scene so it spans 16 blocks down Park Avenue to the front of Helmsley Building on E 46th St, which stands right in front of the Met Life Building.
I really appreciate so much the time and risk I took to capture the empty streets of NYC during the initial major shutdown at the start of the pandemic. It was certainly an eerie feeling being out in the middle of the day with barely any people or cars around, like what you see in the movie "I am Legend". "
