The deeply etched lines and vibrant color of this print are common to Alliand's new "haubans" prints. Haubans is french for a guy line - a tensioned cable designed to add stability to a free-standing structure like a ship’s mast. This is one of 5 proofs done in this color.
RENAUD ALLIRAND was born in 1970, and currently lives and works in Paris. He has exhibited regularly since 1995 and has won numerous prizes for his painting, prints and illustrated artists books. His work is in both public and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. In 2007 he was invited to be the Resident artist at the French institute of Tangier - Tétouan, Morocco. He has repeated that experience in 2016, and continues to exhibit in some of Paris top galleries.
