About the Item
This stunning Artist's Proof is an one-off, oil hand-painted, signed at front and on the back label too; each proof is 80% hand painted by Shizico Yi, because the nature of hand mixed oil, colours are to be slightly vary on each proof;
each proof is as unique as semi-original, highly collectable.
This Proof collection is to offer an alternative to an original, this series is very collectable at an attractive price under a special Proof Project published celebrating Shizico's latest exhibition- Nostalgia, London, UK 2024.
About the painting:
Summer Night is a part of The Summer Bloom Series, an ongoing project that Shizico Yi works on every summer in her garden.
This painting captures a view from the east end of the garden, looking towards the west gate where old giant trees frame wildflower areas on both sides. Shizico chose the colour blue to represent the night sky, reflecting her experience of painting plein air into the summer nights in her garden.
Her paintings stand as a testament to her imagination, bold and always evolving techniques and the profound inspiration she draws from her natural surroundings especially her own gardens where she grows plants and re-makes her very own landscape.

About the Series:
Summer Bloom Plein Air project is an ongoing project that Shizico Yi works on painting plein air in her garden and on location through out the season.
She began gardening in 2015 to create a large, healing space for her then ill, elderly dog. After her Labrador passed away, this memorial garden became a source of inspiration for her art and provided a place of solace, draw profound inspiration from her natural surroundings especially her own gardens where she grows plants and re-makes her very own landscape.
* This large Proof will be rolled and shipped in a heavy duty tube, we advice you frame it with your local framer. We can guide you with the choice of the frame and the method if in need.

Dr. Shizico Yi, the UK artist working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories . With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
