Plensa 5 BLACK AND WHITE, VERTICAL, MATERNITY, Untitled etching original
Located in CORAL GABLES - MIAMI, FL
Untitled 1 Etching original painting number 12 of an edition of 15 engravings. Jaume Plensa Suñé (Barcelona, 1955) is a Spanish plastic artist, sculptor and engraver. Very versatile artist who has also experimented with drawing, opera sets, video projections or acoustic installations.1 He is known for his large sculptures made up of letters and numbers.2 Born in Barcelona in 1955, he studied at the Llotja School and the Sant Jordi Superior School of Fine Arts. Trajectory In a first stage, his work reflects an interest in issues related to volume, space and tension. In 1983-1984 he began to mold iron with the casting technique and developed a sculptural concept of zoomorphic forms using cuts and folds. In 1986 he started working with cast iron, and later he used glass, resin, lights and sounds. Since 1996 he has also been dedicated to creating elements and sets for opera and theater productions, mainly in collaboration with the company La Fura dels Baus. He also stands out as a draftsman and engraver. In 2008 he made the sculpture called "Alma del Ebro" in Zaragoza (Aragon) on the occasion of the International Water Exhibition held there. This sculpture is 11 meters high and is located in front of the Palacio de Congresos, on the banks of the Ebro river. The letters represent cells of the human body, which is made up of more than 60% water. Its white letters and hollow structure invite the viewer to look inside and reflect on the relationship between human beings and water. In December 2012, he was elected the winner of the 2013 National Prize for Graphic Art awarded by the National Calcography and which recognizes the artist's career in the field of graphic art.3 In 2012 he produced the poster for the Festival de la Mercè in Barcelona. Honors The main distinctions obtained by the artist have been the following: • 1993: Medaille des Chevaliers des Arts et Letres, Ministry of Culture, France. • 1996: Prize of the Fondation Atelier Calder...

Kerry James Marshall Banner Authentic Mastry Exhibition
Located in Draper, UT
Mastry 2017 Exhibition Banner Actual Banner Prominently Displayed in Downtown LA Throughout a career spanning four decades, Kerry James Marshall has continuously interrogated and addressed the omission of black individuals from the Western art-historical canon. Across painting and a variety of different media, his complex and multilayered portrayals synthesize disparate genres, while seeking to counter stereotypical representations. As Lanka Tattersall notes, "Marshall's determination to mark the historical absence of black bodies in the Western canon of painting and his emphatic, programmatic insertion of blackness into the field of art are carried through the literal matter—the pigments—of his paintings."1 Marshall was born in 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama. He studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles, earning his B.F.A. in 1978 and an honorary doctorate in 1999. In 2014, Marshall joined David Zwirner...

Blue Triptych of Trio of Palms, Tropical Botanical Cyanotype, Watercolor Paper
Located in Barcelona, ES
This series of cyanotype triptychs showcases the beauty of nature scenes, including stunning beaches and oceans, as well as the intricate textures of water, forests, and skies. These triptychs are large pieces that feature lush blues, making them an impressive addition to any beautifully designed space. Each triptych is printed by hand and carefully crafted to capture the unique essence of these natural environments, with a focus on the interplay of light and shadows, and the subtle nuances of tone and texture. The beach and ocean scenes depict the dynamic beauty of waves crashing against the shore, with the cyanotype process lending a dreamy, ethereal quality to the images. Similarly, the forest and wood scenes offer a glimpse into the hidden depths of nature, with the cyanotype process lending a sense of mystery and wonder to the images, while the lush blues of cyanotypes imitate the sky and clouds perfectly. These triptychs are perfect for anyone who loves to surround themselves with the beauty of nature, and they make an excellent centerpiece for any beautifully designed space. Details: + Title: Desert Palm Trio + Year: 2023 + Edition Size: 20 + Stamped and Certificate of Authenticity provided + Measurements : 100x210 cm (40 x 84 in.) Each paper measures 70x100 cm (28x 40 in.) each, a standard frame size + All cyanotype prints are made on high-quality Italian watercolor paper WHAT IS A CYANOTYPE? The cyanotype (a.k.a. sun-print) process is one of the oldest in the history of photography, dating back to the 1840's. Cyanotypes were then made famous by Anna Atkins, considered the first female photographer. Inspired by nature, we feel the need to look back at a craft that is handmade, analogue, and using an all-natural light source: the sun. Our cyanotypes are made by coating high-quality Italian watercolor paper with a light-sensitive emulsion. We then expose it in direct sunlight for several minutes using a photo negative...
