About the Item

In America during WWII, every resource was poured into the war effort. With over 12 million Americans - 11% of the total population - serving in the armed forces, everything from food to labor was tight on the Home Front. This poster depicts an American flag blowing in the wind. "We can, we will, we must!" is written, a nod to FDR's fireside chat about arming Britain more heavily in its fight with Germany. The full quote is, “I say that this can be done; it must be done; and it will be done.” This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster has been archivally backed onto linen and is in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
