About the Item
Tice, CLara (Amrican, 1888-1973). ELEVEN ETCHINGS. Etchings on
paper, not dated, but 1930s. Each c. 6 x 4 1/2 inches on a sheet
c. 9 1/2 x 6 1/4 inches. Each signed in the plate. From a book or
books illustrated by Tice. Occasional marginal foxing spots, away
from the images, else in very good condition. Tice studied with
Robert Henri, and was a successful painter and illustrator, as
well as a prominent figure in Avant Garde circles in New York.
She is best known for her erotic art in the Art Deco style, of
which these eleven pieces are excellent examples. Unframed and unmatted, and likely removed from a book or books..
