About the Item
Portrait is an original contemporary artwork realized by Vincenzo Arena (b. 1932) in the 1960s.
Original drawing on paper.
Hand-signed by the artist on the lower right corner: Arena,).
Good conditions: some foxings on the upper side.
Nice black pencil drawing realized in pencil with an accentuated chiaroscuro depicting an elderly man with a headdress. The face is characterized by a deep and soft shading.
The work has been realized by Vincenzo Arena (b.1932); he trained in Rome where he currently resides. Since 1965, the year in which his first stay in Brussels dates back, he has established important relations with the Belgian artistic environment, making his own the hallucromy technique (the coloring of aluminum). His first solo show at the Vercamer gallery took place in Paris in 1968 and he took part in the foundation of the CO.MO group (Constructivism et Mouvement) with Michel Seuphor, Luc Peire and others.
