Salvador Dalí
Flora Dalinae - Chrysanthemum Frutescens

1968

About the Item

Chrysanthemum Frutescens (Marquerite). This wonderful Salvador Dali print is part of a series of surrealist representations of fruits and flower that Dalí designed in the late 60´s. In this image the Chrysanthemums are transformed in plates of fried eggs, recalling themselves disc shaped UFOs. The panorama in the background is similar to many iconic backdrop of Salvador Dalí artworks, with a desert like landscape, lines accentuating the perspective and rocky mountains in the far distance. The whole environment is typical of a dream, the core environment of surrealism. The print is one of the 10 images of the series "Flora Dalinae", printed in 1968 by the publisher Mr. Jean Paul Schneider, Basel and Michelle Broutta, Paris. It is a photolith with original engraved remarques and color. Printed on Rives paper.
