1860 Hand -colored engraving "Panorama of Washington D. C. published by Charles Magnus This is a long sheet topped by an oval portrait of Washington surrounded by banners and a caption "First in War First in Peace and First in the Hearts of His Countrymen. There are twenty-seven hand colored engraved images of historic landmarks in Washington D.C. as well as patriotic images and events from the life of our first President. It has a few standard folds and some minor spotting. One of the images is of the proposed Washington monument. Paper slightly age-toned and there is paper missing in lower left corner. Backed by contemporary backing. This is a rare find for any American history buff. Charles Magnus ( 1826-1900 ) was known for his color lithographs of city views, song sheets, maps and patriotic illustrations for stationary and covers during the American civil War. Born in Germany he emigrated to New York City in the late 1840's.

This is a hand-colored aquatint and engraving entitled "Pool of Bethesda, Jerusalem", published in London by R. Bowyer in 1804. The print was created by Thomas Milton (1743-1827) from drawings by Luigi Mayer. This beautiful, detailed, original engraving is printed on deluxe J. Whatman paper with very wide left and right margins. There is a watermark "1801" indicating the year the paper was made. The sheet measures 11.25" high and 16" wide. There is a small faint spot in the upper margin on the left and a tiny faint spot in the right upper corner and another in the left lower corner.
