About the Item
Beautiful poster of Paul Colin to participate in blood donation. Paul Colin is an artist, graphic designer and painter of theater. During his life, he created more than 1900 posters and worked in the field of theater for over 40 years. Influenced by surrealism and cubism, he generally used very exaggerated shapes, striking colors and highly stylized art forms in his work. Paul Colin
Paul Colin (French , 1892-1985) was a French artist widely recognized for his imaginatively configured art deco posters depicting many well known theatre performers in Paris in the 1920's and 1930's, such as Josephine Baker and modernist figures and nudes. He also specialized in theatre sets, book designs, and costume design. Influenced by Cubism and jazz, he often employed a collage-like methodology to his work, juxtaposing highly stylized figural compositions against geometrically overlapping objects. He was a student of Valin and Prouvre. He created performance posters that were highly stylized, for studio, arts and dance. He was awarded an inspiring graphic artist and had his own unique style as he embraced symbolism and an abstract style.

1943 Original french propaganda poster from WWII - Working in Nazi Germany
Located in PARIS, FR
Since 1940, and throughout the war, many foreign volunteers chose to work in Germany, whether for ideological reasons or, more often, for wages or even the release of close prisoners. But from March 1942 onwards, the Nazi government launched a vast policy designed to bring about an influx of labor on its soil. Indeed, due to the ever-increasing need for men in the army, the mines, industry and agriculture lacked the manpower to support the war effort.
As a prime target for this search, Vichy France...
