This is a 2 Colour Screenprint on Somerset Satin 300gsm Paper hand signed and numbered by Chris Levine of a limited edition of only 5 copies.
Not many are the official portraits of the Queen and this one is definitely the most breaking. Chris Levine took multiple shots from the Majesty on his camera which was moving along a track taking a series of stills from left to right. Levine had the idea of making a hologram from each still. This way, EQUANIMITY series conforms a complete view of 180º from the Queen.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
This artist, of Canadian origin, based in the United Kingdom, is a conceptual artist and creator of one of the most iconic images of the XXI century Lightness of Being. It is a sensational portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in which we can see the most famous woman in the world in a meditative state. The light and stillness enhance the image of the Queen that evokes the spirituality and innermost humanity of the character.
Chris Levine's work focuses on the handling of light, time and space, elements with which the artist seeks to give his audience an experience rather than considering them as a merely spectator. Although much of his work consists of installations and stagings involving lasers and large supports, it is his photographic portraits that have brought him international recognition.
His 2004 series Equanimity in which he portrayed the Queen from multiple angles and from which came (almost by chance) Lightness of Being, is a turning point in his career. His portfolio includes other portraits featuring renowned British icons such as Kate Moss, Gracie Jones, Naomi Campbell, Paul Smith or Banksy himself. His work Compassion, in which Levine portrayed the Dalai Lama in 2015 was a dream fulfilled: "The practice of meditation is fundamental to my way of life and to my practice as an artist" - Chris Levine.
Levine's work fuses different fields such as fashion, design, music, installation or performance, which has led him to collaborations with different artists such as Antony and the Johnsons, Philip Treacy, Massive Attack or Grace Jones.
Levine studied at the Chelsea School of Art (now Chelsea College of Arts) before obtaining a master's degree in computer graphics at Central Saint Martins. He has exhibited in London, New York, Los Angeles and Milan. His work has sold for six figures on the secondary market.

Chris Levine
Chris Levine was born in Ontario in 1960. He lives and works in Northamptonshire and is a light artist who works across many mediums in pursuit of an expanded state of perception and awareness through image and form.
Levine’s work considers light not just as a core aspect of art, but of human experience more widely and a spiritual, meditative and philosophical edge permeates his prints, paintings, photography and other art. He is perhaps best known for producing what is already being described as one of the most iconic images of the twenty-first century, Lightness of Being.
With light and stillness at its core, the sensational portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II presents an utterly fresh depiction of the most famous woman in the world. The National Portrait Gallery stated it was the most evocative image of a royal by any artist.
Levine’s practice is differentiated by cross-fertilization across many creative fields including music, performance, installation, fashion and design in a multitude of projects. His exhibition “Hyper Visual 1.2” completed a tour of 12 countries with the British Council. In 2012 his work The Queen: Art and Image got featured in a major exhibition at London’s National Portrait Gallery. He has had artwork in London’s Science Museum and has staged light performances and exhibitions internationally in spaces such as Radio City in New York commissioned by MoMA, the Eden Project, the Royal Opera House, MATE museum in Lima, London’s Fine Art Society and the headline installation at MOFO festival for Tasmania’s MONA museum.
Levine’s status as one of the world’s leading light artists has led to several high-profile cross-media collaborations with Massive Attack, Hussein Chalayan, Antony and the Johnsons, Kate Moss, Grace Jones and Jon Hopkins. He has also produced work for Chanel, BMW and Swarovski. Levine completed another historic portrait to commemorate the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday to raise funds for the victims of Nepal’s earthquake.
