The girl from Bornholm has donned the island's traditional costume for a special occasion. She is still braiding a plait. She is looking intently at a spot she can barely see, which requires a special kind of concentration. There is something touching about the devotion with which the girl completes her appearance.

Zu einem besonderen Anlass hat das Mädchen aus Bornholm die Tracht der Insel angelegt. Sie ist gerade noch dabei, einen Zopf zu flechten. Konzentriert blickt sie auf eine Stelle, die sie selbst gerade so zu sehen vermag, was ihr eine besondere Konzentration abverlangt. Die Hingabe, mit der das Mädchen seine äußere Erscheinung auf angemessene Weise vollendet, hat etwas Rührendes.
