'David' Deconstructed Portrait using Glass and Metal
Located in Rye, NY
Louis Sclafani’s exploration in glass began as an undergraduate majoring in ceramics at Alfred University, Alfred, New York. In 1976, Louis spent a semester abroad studying ceramics at the Siena School of Art, Italy. On a field trip to Venice, he found himself fascinated by the glass of Venice and the Island of Murano. He secured an apprenticeship with renowned glass sculptor Loredano Rosin and returned to Venice soon after to launch deeper into the world of glass. While living in a tent on a roof top behind Loredano’s studio, he learned from the best and found his own artistic direction. This “summer” job would last three years. His experience in Venice since 1976 has given him an extended family and the pleasure of working with Davide Fuin...

Art Glass Sculpture with Gold
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Size: 26"x9" base 7"5 Silvio Vigliaturo was born in Acri, a town located in the Southern Italian Region of Calabria, in 1949. When he was still very young, he moved to Chieri, a town near Turin, where he currently lives and works. Artist and glass maestro, his technique has always been characterized by a strong emphasis on research and experimentation. Since his first exhibitions, in 1977, up to the most recent participation to the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale, held in 2011, and the important solo exhibition at the Regional Museum of Natural Science, in Turin (Summer 2012), Vigliaturo's artistic journey has been marked by constant evolution. His unique approach to glass derives from his strenuous painting activity. The high visual impact of his sculptures originates from the transparency of the colors and the antinomy between the glass's weight and the lightness of forms the artist can generate from it. In 2006, Vigliaturo was nominated artistic testimonial of the XX Winter Olympic Games held in Turin. In the same year, the municipality of Acri dedicated him a museum - the MACA (Contemporary Art Museum of Acri) - which hosts an extensive permanent collection of his works. In 2010, he was named artistic testimonial of Calabria at Expo Shanghai. At the beginning of 2013, he participated in the Contemporary Glass Sculpture exhibition, held at the Orlando Museum of Art, which gathered works by the most prominent glass artists in the world, celebrating the first fifty years of Studio Glass. Exhibitions: Some exhibitions L’Università del vetro di Altare e Silvio Vigliaturo, Museo del Vetro, Altare, Italy (solo exhibition) Facing 1200°, Glasskulpturen, Museum Moderner Kunst Kaernten, Klagenfurt, Austria (group exhibition) Fresh Glass. Venice – Poznan, a promising connection, Galeria Miejska Arsenal, Poznan, Poland (group exhibition) Hsinchu Municipal Glass-Museum, Hsinchu, Taipei, Taiwan (group exhibition) Islands of glass 1920-2005, Eretz Israel Museum, Tel Aviv, Israel (group exhibition) Magiche alchimie trasparenti, Museum of Modern Art, Riga, Latvia (solo exhibition) Magiche alchimie trasparenti, Mkciurlionis National Art Museum, Kaunas, Lithuania (solo exhibition) Magiche alchimie trasparenti, Lithuanian Art Museum, Klaipéda, Lituania (solo exhibition) Kleombrotos-Vigliaturo, una lettera dal passato, Museo Nazionale Archeologico della Sibaritide, Sibari, Italy (solo exhibition) Contemporary Istanbul (group exhibition) Palm Beach Jewelry...
