About
This monumental bronze sculpture is cast and assembled as one large piece. It is entirely cast in bronze. Two borzoi dogs stand either side of a young lady clad in elegant early 20th century attire. The dogs are patinaed and painted in gold and red. The woman’s face has a silver overlay. The raised decoration in the dress and are painted, as are the grapes and decorations of the bronze base. The design is true to a nouveau aesthetic in its style and elegance.
The piece is not signed, yet it is obvious that it was executed by a very accomplished sculptor. Although, never weighed, the sculpture has significant weight which may approach 1000 pounds. The piece was part of a grand entrance area in a Palm Beach mansion.
