Athena's Trinity
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
The unknown vibrancy/potential in every child lead to the inspiration for this painting. Irrespective of any race, we should never dispute the wisdom, and knowledge in little children but rather help them on the path of identifying their purpose This leads to the title Athena's trinity (Athena means goddess of wisdom and war). The figures at the back represent the wisdom and love in a child while the figure at the front represents the power instilled in a child that should never be looked down on. All of these traits are linked to one using Trinity. Every child should not be stripped of love and wisdom but tread their path to love and wisdom accompanied by power Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Day Dreamer
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
My dreams are unimaginable They scare me Maybe because I have set so many bars for myself that were unrealistic. I am fully aware of my environment and how I have struggled to bring my dreams to reality, the thought of it is mentally tasking and exhausting. Well, should I stop dreaming? Maybe just maybe it has become an escape mechanism to run from this reality. My reality is not friendly, it isn't a place I want to be. But maybe, just maybe my fantasies will be a domain for my dwelling soon. So I keep my eyes shut and let my imagination take me to those places I haven't been to yet. So I keep dreaming. About Artist Born and raised in Sagamu - an industrial and agricultural city located about 70km from Lagos, Nigeria's largest city - Damilola's love of art was something her father first recognized and encouraged when she was a teenager. But it wasn't until a few months after his untimely death in late 2016 that she chose to hone her skills and pursue art seriously as a way to honor her father's memory. In 2018, having amassed a collection of work she felt ready to present to the world, Damilola found herself at an impasse: where DOES a young artist showcase their work in Ogun State? Unable to find an answer, she organized the first-ever art show at her college - an academy of science, where she was studying microbiology. Using her own money and recruiting her mother and siblings as her support staff, she opened the show as an opportunity for other creatives from her school - including photographers and makeup artists - as well as artists from other schools. The reactions she received let her know that she was on the right track and she began submitting her work to open calls around the world. A year later, she was awarded the Best Young Visual Artist of 2019 by every day Chapter. Fully self-taught, Damilola Olusegun...

Symbol of Memories 2
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Symbol of Memories 1 is an original painting by Oladimeji Alabi. Oladimeji created the Symbol of Memories with Mixed Media on a 30W by 50H inches primed canvas. The symbol of Memories is inspired by the story of my childhood. The objects and signs we grew up with as a child in our homes become symbols of our memories today. Art has the ability to evoke strong emotions and convey meaningful messages. One such artwork that does just that is "Symbol of Memories," a stunning piece that uses the mother as a symbol of life and hope. This artwork is made even more significant by the use of damask fabric, which was popular among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and used for making gele, the head ties worn by women. The artwork speaks volumes about the importance of mothers in society. The mother is dressed in a vibrant damask fabric, which adds a sense of richness and texture to the painting. The use of damask fabric in the painting is significant as it represents a part of Nigerian culture and history. Damask was a popular fashion among Nigerian women in the late 70s to 90s and was used to make gele, the head ties worn by women on special occasions. The fabric is often associated with elegance, sophistication, and beauty, which adds a layer of meaning to the artwork. The mother in the painting is the focal point of the artwork, symbolizing the importance of mothers in society. Mothers are the backbone of families, providing love, support, and guidance to their children. They are often the ones who hold families together through difficult times, serving as a symbol of hope and resilience. The use of the damask fabric in the painting also represents the concept of memories. The fabric has a rich history in Nigerian culture, and for many people, it is a symbol of their childhood and the memories they hold dear. The painting serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving memories, both good and bad, and how they shape our lives. Overall, "Symbol of Memories" is a beautiful piece of art that celebrates the role of mothers in society. The use of damask fabric adds a layer of meaning to the painting, representing the importance of preserving memories and the rich culture of Nigeria. The mother as a focused subject symbolizes life and hope, the fabric applied in this art is called damask, which was a popular fashion among Nigerian women around the late 70s to 90s used for making gele(the head ties). Energy
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Oladimeji Alabi, a Nigerian contemporary artist, created a thought-provoking artwork titled "Energy," which emphasizes the essence of energy, both positive and negative, according to African spirituality. The artwork is a vivid depiction of the concept of karma, which is fundamental to African spirituality, and the law of nature, which states that what you give out, you get back in turn. The central piece of the artwork is a painting of a human figure, seemingly in a state of contemplation with her flowing hair. "What you give out, you get back in turn." This phrase is a direct reference to the concept of karma, which is prevalent in African spirituality. Karma is the belief that our actions have consequences, and that every action we take has an effect on our lives and the lives of those around us. Furthermore, the artwork emphasizes the importance of energy, both positive and negative, and how it affects our lives. According to African spirituality, everything in the universe is interconnected, and energy flows through all things. Positive energy is associated with good fortune, success, and happiness, while negative energy is associated with misfortune, failure, and sadness. In conclusion, Oladimeji Alabi's artwork "Energy" is a beautiful and thought-provoking piece that embodies the essence of African spirituality. The artwork's central message of karma and the law of nature is a powerful reminder that our actions have consequences and that we must be mindful of the energy we put out into the world. Located in Marmora, NJ
DIMENSIONS: 23“ (h) x 14“ (W) MATERIALS: Plywood, MDF, Danish oil Operating from his studio in the north-east of England, Fashion Design graduate Deane Hodgson’s eclectic body of work encompasses wall sculptures, analog collage and found poetry. To be confident in ourselves, which of course grows as we journey through various paths. Sometimes, one may hold on to arrogance if necessary because the world would often tries to enforce its projections on us. It is imperative to stand firm even as we walk across these borders of existential questions about why we are here and what we are to do.
