Each stump is made from a solid trunk of rough cut walnut and each is hand sawed, sanded, and sprayed with a commercial grade finish. Every part of the process is handled with care to honor the unique markings of each tree. PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE PRONE TO CRACKING. WE LOVE THE LOOK BUT THESE DEFINITELY ARE NOT FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS A PERFECT SQUARE.... LOTS OF CHARACTER. Cracks can even be as big as 1/2" wide due to proper drying in our kiln. The idea is that most of the cracking happens before it is sprayed, shipped, and in its new home.
