Paintings by Jeffrey Kurland are most often abstract works on canvas or paper, and each is unique. He favors irregular design, non-standard methods and materials, and active color expression. Influences include Morris Louis, Larry Poons, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, John Chamberlain, David Smith, Henri Matisse.
Jeffrey Kurland received his BFA in Painting and Printmaking from the University of Michigan, and an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan. Living and working in New York City since 1976, his art practice includes painting, drawing, collage, monoprints, and book arts.(Biography provided by Tabla Rasa Gallery)
