An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mugs; an addition to our range of diverse Georgian Newcastle silverware. These exceptional antique George III Newcastle sterling silver mugs have has a panelled octagonal form. The surface of each Georgian silver mug is embellished panels of bright cut engraved stylised floral sprays, incorporating a vacant shaped cartouche to the anterior segment. The plain panelled foot and upper rim of the body are encompassed with bands of applied moulded decoration. The mug is fitted with an impressive scroll handle, enveloped with an impressive leaf design incorporating a scrolling thumbpiece. The interior of each mug retains the original gilding.
