Art Deco Lady Figurine Table Lamp Bronze Sculpture, French circa 1930
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a stunning figurine table lamp of a nude lady bronze Figurine sculpture made in France, circa 1930. The figurine is heavy and made of bronze metal with good detail. It has been cold painted with a green colour which has worn away in places, showing a patinated bronze colour beneath. The lady is stood on a round ball above a shaped shell like base. The figure is holding the lamp above her head with the electric cable running into the base and vertically up her back to the lamp fitting above. A coloured spherical glass shade firmly sits in the dished support. The light is currently fitted with a small bayonet fitting, the whole electrical fitting having been PAT tested for safety compliance in the UK. The fitting could easily be modified to suit the electricity supply of the country where it might be used . This piece is typical of the Art Deco aesthetic, with the sleek lines of the nude girl figure holding the globe light above. The lamp is in full working order. This is a substantial heavy piece weighing about 2.5Kg unpacked. Overall a beautiful original Art Deco Lady Figurine...

19th C Oak Stool with Leather Strap Top all handmade, Arts & Crafts period
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a good handmade stool with a well turned solid oak frame and a woven leather strap top, all dating to the Arts & Crafts period of the late 19th century. The stool is made of solid oak. The frame joints into four legs with ring turned detail and with four jointed rectangular cross stretchers between the legs, making this a very strong construction. The seat top is made of interwoven reddish-brown leather straps which sit on fabric webbing below the leather and give additional support to the seat. The seat is finished off with four narrow leather strips that run along the lower seat edge, one on each side, that are secured by brass nail studs. The stool has developed a good patina from age and use and the reddish-brown leather has a deep natural mature shine, only achieved by repeated polishing and use over the years. This piece is made in the 17th century Jacobean style but we date the stool to the late 19th century, made in the English Arts & Crafts period of the late 19th century. Please note the images are taken both indoors and outdoors in different light conditions. Notes on English leather topped seating Leather covers on English seating dates back to the middle ages and the 16th century. Mature leather seats can be as tough and polished as the wood of the frame itself. During the reign of Elizabeth 1st...

Tall Chinese Porcelain Bottle Vase Sapphire Blue 6 Char Mark, Late 19thC Qing
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a very beautiful, highly decorative Tall Chinese bottle vase with a monochrome or single glaze colour of a fine sapphire-blue, which we date to the late 19th century, Qing period . This Chinese Export vase is well potted on a fairly tall foot, having a globular body, with a long cylindrical stick neck. On close inspection the glaze has a beautiful finely speckled texture, the depth of colour draining from the top rim where it is slightly lighter to a darker shade at the foot where the glaze thickens. The foot rim is well hand cut with an orange coloured iron oxide ring just above the foot rim and below the glaze, where the air hit the porcelain in the kiln. This is a heavy vase weighing about 2.75 Kg unpacked. The blue is a superb shade of dark sapphire / steel /dark sky blue colour. The inner neck area and centre of the base are also glazed. The base carries a hand painted six figure apocryphal Qing Kangxi ( 1662 to 1722) mark but this piece dates to the late 19th Century, in the later part of the Qing Dynasty. These single colour monochrome vases are often small with heights of about 7 or 8 inches but this is a much larger piece measuring well over 14 inches in height. Its elegant form, reminiscent of the traditional Guanyin vases...

It is decorated with a man and a boy stood against a tree with rocks, mountains and flying bats in the background all hand painted in various shades of a clear under-glaze cobalt blue.
