Particular pair of toilet bottles in cut and ground by hand crystal; for their execution it was used crystal with a percentage of lead of 30%; the high lead content, instead of calcium present in the common glass, gives the crystal a remarkable hardness, exceptional transparency, and a high refractive index; with the techniques of cutting, grinding and polishing, scrupulously performed by hand, extraordinary light effects and reflections were created; the bottles with the ball body are surmounted by a silver neck and a hinged lid finely chiseled with Victorian motifs. Lovely and refined English oval ceramic tray; elegant and rich blue decorations have been executed on the white background using the transferware method; the mark on the back tells us exactly that the object was produced by the Clementson Brothers LTD Company between 1901 and 1913 at the Phoenix factory in Shelton, the company made a wide range of objects with this decoration called "Delf" ( see mark no.909 p.150 of "Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Mark"). Transferware, which was very fashionable in the Victorian period, refers to glazed and decorated pottery with a specific treatment that they produced in Staffordshire, England; they used copper plates on which the design was engraved, the plate was then inked and the design transferred to a special fabric that was later placed on the pottery (plates, trays, tureens, etc.) which was glazed and fired; the first to use this printing process were John Sadler and Guy Green of Liverpool in 1756. If we look at the pottery made by this method we will notice that the designs are not perfect and often the ink is smudged: this is their characteristic. A hand-painted plate service could afford few English families, with this method even middle-class families could have a decorated plate service. Elegant and refined English octagonal ceramic tray; on the white background, soft and rich blue decorations have been executed using the transferware method; in the center we find the poetic and graceful representation of the Severn River and the town of Bridgnorth (the name of this decoration is "Severn"), while the edges of the tray are adorned with sumptuous and spectacular flower and leaf decorations. The Severn River is the longest river in the United Kingdom (350 km), rising in Wales and flowing into the Bristol Channel; Bridgnorth is an ancient Saxon settlement; observing the view of the river and town from his castle at Bridgnorth King Charles I Stuart (1600-1649) said "the most beautiful sight in all my kingdom". On the back of the tray there are 3 imprinted marks including one with final number 14, then we find in the center a blue mark, these indicate to us exactly that the tray was produced in Stoke-on-Trent by the Copeland-Spode company in 1914 (see mark no.1079 p.172 of "Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Mark). The Spode firm was founded in the heart of the Potteries - Stoke-on-Trent by Josiah Spode in 1770. Iconic and precious crystal chalice; it has been made from the highest quality lead crystal with a thickness that is thick enough to allow it to be ground deeper than normal, which allows the light to reflect in a much brighter and more brilliant manner; for this to happen, the geometry of the grinding has also been specially designed and executed. The glass is a delightful combination of intricate cuts and engravings and features some of the most beautiful motifs of the 18th and 19th centuries. Iconic and precious crystal goblets; they have been made from the highest quality lead crystal with a thickness that is thick enough to allow them to be ground deeper than normal, which allows the light to reflect in a much brighter and more brilliant manner; for this to happen, the geometry of the grinding has also been specially designed and executed. The glasses are a delightful combination of intricate cuts and engravings and feature some of the most beautiful motifs of the 18th and 19th centuries. Every detail of the decoration, such as the glittering star wheel, is cut entirely by hand, with hours of specialized labor required to complete each piece achieving a very high standard of quality. A lovely and refined set of four fine ceramic ashtrays in the shape of a shell; they were hand-molded, then fired in the kiln a first time, then on the white majolica the inner decoration was done with a delicate shaded blue color at this point the objects underwent a second firing, the outer part was then decorated and finally, the ashtrays were fired a third time to finally fix the colors thus creating four small works of art. Peculiar and original German ceramic jug colored with a beautiful shade of red, black, and a vivid orange; it has a simple shape but at the same time innovative and modernist; the beautiful and vivid colors are balanced and proportioned respecting a minimalist design; the glazing of the jar was obtained by first laying down one color, proceeding to fix it by firing it in a kiln, then the same procedure was performed for the other colors; on the bottom bears the traditional mark found on this type of object, indicating that the object was created in a limited series with the jug number and the model number; unfortunately, on our jug this mark is barely legible, but it exists and allows us to say that this object was produced between 1968 and 1971 in a craft workshop in the city of Dresden (then in East Germany), an important center of porcelain and ceramic production.
