Early 1930s peach embroidered floral slip in incredible antique condition. This piece is made from a man made silk blend in a really beautiful soft peach colour. There are some pleasing design details on this dress including the embroidered neckline with flowers that look like fuchsias. There is a little gather along the square part of the neckline and some of the pleating falls down to the waistband where ties are attached just below the bust - very Grecian in look. There are no labels present but the slip is really well made and good examples of vintage lingerie...

This is a great example of early unisex fashion from the revered French designer Ted Lapidus. He popularised sports utility wear and the safari suit look along with Yves Saint Laurent in the 60s and 70s. This dress is made from a richly woven linen fabric and has several notable design details including a wide lapel collar and double breasted rows of buttons with two very large front pockets. The concealed access for these pockets is in fact on the sides of the dress. The jacket has beautiful tailoring and is fully lined in a olive coloured acetate. The coat dress is in excellent vintage condition with only very minor signs of wear. There is a model number hidden within the left hand pocket. There are belt loops however the original belt is missing. We have styled it here with an original Gucci logo...

A couture contemporary dress , circa 2010 from Bruce Oldfield, a celebrated UK designer who is in his fifth decade of exclusive design. He is renowned for his occasion wear and this is a beautiful and understated example in royal blue silk chiffon and silk crepe de chine. The chiffon fabric forms the top layer of the body of the dress. The sleeves, which are bracelet length, remain sheer and they fasten with four fabric covered buttons. The crepe de chine underdress has very elaborate construction with a fully boned and padded bodice section. The artful internal panelling has a full corseted back fastening with hook and eyes to give this dress an incredible shape so that the top layer of chiffon floats over the body. All this shape work is artfully concealed and complimented by the skilful placement of an invisible zip to the centre back of the chiffon top layer. The dress has an elegant cross-over portrait neck...

Well documented, this is an absolutely classic and desirable piece of Yves Saint Laurent evening wear dating from 1978-1983. The designer revisited this look several times during the 70s and 80s and we feel that this is quite possibly an early 80s piece. In a beautiful deep purple hue of silk taffeta, this set has some lavish design details and very generous amounts of fabric in the ruffle collar and deep cuffs. The floor length skirt is full and has an unusual asymmetric ruffle flounce so that no length is equal, juxtaposing the formal blouse element. These ensembles always look great tucked in or accompanied by an original YSL rope...
