Deeply rooted in the natural world, Helen Prior’s ceramics and textiles cross-pollinate the leaves and wildflowers of the Hudson Valley with stylized flower patterns from her historical textile archive. She creates rhythmic patterns on delicate, organic vessels by cutting fine lines and pressing found objects into clay. The intention is to make an unforced impression of nature with a visual cohesion that is modern and beautiful.
